Learning Disability Week 2026 - Do you see me?

👀Do you see me? Mencap are leading the week ahead with ideas and insights, webinars, and their Tuesday lunch and learn.

✨A week to reflect and look at ways you can make certain everyone across your company, or organisation, truly provides every adjustment and inclusive options possible, people with learning disability want to be seen and valued.

❓How good are your internal communications if you have employees requiring alternative options
❓Are you on track with the Accessible Information Standards
❓Are your resources and media inclusive
❓Do you adapt where necessary without hesitation (are you really able to?)
❓Are you able to provide whatever medium is needed by those you employ or the audience you are targeting
❓Do you have the skill set and understanding (and the software!) to communicate with all audiences?

✨Most importantly, are you prepared to adapt and learn from people who have far more experience on what does or doesn’t work? Ask them or their advocates and have a process firmly in place to do this frequently.

👀This year hashtag#LD2026 Learning Disability Week sets us all the reflection ‘Do you see me?’

✨Think about that - a powerful question as it’s true to say a lot of people will be looking at the person in front of them but not taking the time to know them or what their individual needs might be.

🤝Active Prospects UK and Pro-Active Community have joined forces to bring a week of ideas and events led by people who know what they want and how they choose to do it! Huge thanks to Matt Leadbeater for helping plan it all.

✨Last few places available at Friday’s event, booking closes at the end of Monday 15th. Members have been working with Candice Waterman and Helen Guest to shape another ‘Managing my ‘series, partnering with agencies and organisations across Surrey, a day not to be missed!
