'Fakeaway' meals - delicious, healthy slow cooker treats
Pro-Active Community member Elizabeth, has completed the 3 sessions of this 4 week cooking course, and this week prepared the ingredients for a delicious Yellow Curry!
Just 1 further week remains of the last cohort taking part in Accessible Cooking Skills for supported adults, funded by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Communitues and Prevention Team.
✨This is the 5th group (a total of 50 adult learners) who have benefitted so greatly from the co-produced course with lived experience making each week such a success.
📖The adapted resources, recipes and teaching are all tailored to the communication needs of those joining, expanding opportunity and providing nutritional information too.
🎉Every week, Nicola Hoad and Helen from Active Prospects hear yet another ‘golden nugget’ of joy delivered by a student, this week was no exception
“I didn’t like the look of curry on the picture, but I’m going to try it now I’ve smelled it, can I have more please!”
“Michael has cooked this (slow cooker cake) at home, he’s never been interested in cooking really before, but with the incentive to complete the course and receive an air fryer was all it seems to have taken. He has been cooking between classes and bulk cooking too!”
The grant received by Active Prospects UK making these courses possible, has been genuinely life changing for people. So many Pro-Active Community members have taken part, sharing their meals together and meeting new friends.
