Celebrating Down Syndrome Day

Members Elizabeth and Michael enjoyed wearing their odd socks on Friday 8th May, joining Helen at an event marking Down Syndrome Awareness.

Now that’s how you hilight and raise awareness, a very well organised interactive and fun morning at Surrey Choices Longmead Hub, at their Down Syndrome Day outdoor event.

👏🏼Well done particularly to Shauna Jones Lydia Simpson and Diego Acosta as well as so many other team members, you generated a lot of energy and laughter too, getting that soaked to fundraise deserves applause (and cake!)

🧦The odd socks worn across many of the guests today are a colourful way to celebrate diversity and to remind everyone about the Down Syndrome additional chromosome being different, unique and as it happens shaped like socks when viewed under a microscope!

🎉Thank you for inviting Elizabeth and Michael from Pro-Active Community, and for sharing the advocacy group with PAC members and people supported by care providers too.
