CancerLearn comes to PAC members to ask for their lived experiences
A very packed Pro-Active Community meeting welcoming Anna Cox and Lizzie Merrill from University of Surrey to ask members for their input and ideas to help ensure the materials and resources for the CancerLearn project are accessible.
Expertly led by Matt Leadbeater and Chair Michael, the members have voted on lots of ideas and made some excellent, insightful observations and suggestions from their lived experience.
This is how the most successful, impactful outcomes are achieved, working with research fellows to raise awareness of the need for accessible communication and the value of experts who share lived experience of care and learning disability.
The poor statistics need to greatly improve in the current cancer diagnosis and care pathway for adults with learning disability.
Thank you to everyone who joined today.
