Board meeting update

Board members all came together on Teams to update on current progress across all the grants and projects, and to vote in additional ideas to take to the other members to discuss.

The Bank account details were shared and all Board members agreed it is important to manage their grants well, and encourage wise spending within the limits of the Constitution (rules they follow as a charity) there are detailed reports that are sent back to the grantors so we have to be very clear on all spending.

Members talked through the importance of being aware of current affairs happening across Government, and while not being aligned with any particular political party, the role the Pro-Active Community play is really important as a place for all to come together as a single voice.

With the new Prime Minister in office, he may change how Social Care is viewed so we need to follow closely what is happening.

There is a great chance for celebration coming up too, with the 6th anniversary of being a charity in October, members talked about ideas for this and how a grant or fundraising might be possible to mark the event together with community leaders and others who have supported PAC across those 6 years.

Everyone was in agreement the Pro-Active Community strategic work with the Lloyds consultant Janine, is a great opportunity for a new set of eyes and ideas, some will be difficult to settle into, but others will have an immediate positive effect.

Candice updated on AICAN, new and future opportunities await.

The next time the Board meet will be the Annual General Meeting in September when the mandatory training will take place, and new Board roles will be voted on.
